Cath’s family cottage in the Wyre Forest

HOME STORY: The children and I have decided that we want to be more in a town because they will be needing to get trains for their next educational phase.
*My home is called Recluse Cottage because it’s hidden away. I’ve never had a trick or treater or cold caller in 15 years. I have village life with the ability to come back up my lane and retreat. I became a single mum five years ago and about four years ago began to refurbish every room.

*The views are my favourite and also the fact that all three bedrooms feel really spacious and we have a bath or shower room each – makes life with teens much more harmonious! The garden is so much bigger than anything else in the price range and has several sections. I work at home and my office has the advantage of a gorgeous view and on a sunny day I can look at that. But stay cool with the air conditioning on.

*Hidden gem in the area: we have the best tandoori and fish and chip shop and the walk/cycle along the canal to Gils Cafe. Best toastie and salad you’ve had in your life!

*Perfect Saturday morning: Early woodland walk down by the canal, breakfast on the little gravel area outside then pottering in the greenhouse. When kids were small it was all about the swing and the sprinkler when it was sunny and getting down to the park and field.
